Hello, we are Melbourne Delicatessen & Kitchen. As a team we pride ourselves in sourcing the highest quality ingredients as locally as possible as well as some harder to find produce from around the world. We also aim to try and create the majority of products in house, from our scotch eggs to our san Sebastián cheesecake, honey roast ham, with lots of gluten free and vegan options also available.
After several years in hairdressing, Jess decided to follow a new path into the world of food and hospitality. Her passion, dedication and love of working with people quickly helped her build a successful career in catering. After meeting Alex and working together for several years, the pair decided to turn their shared dream into reality by creating a deli focused on quality food, friendly service and a genuine love of what they do.
After working as a chef for 20 years Alex has worked in many different aspects of the industry, starting work at a health Spa learning about the importance of nutrition. He then proceeded to the other side of the coin finding out the delights of butters, creams and other rich indulgences. Working in Spain really inspired Alex to branch out into more exciting cuisines. Always keen to expand his repertoire he always pushes himself to learn new techniques, keeping up with trends and fashions alike. With all this said Alex is a firm believer that good quality produce and ingredients always yield the best results. Fresh local honest food.
